My fastest 5k time was sub 20:30 at 5’9” 148 pounds.
My fastest 3k time was sub 11:27 at 144 pounds.
Not exactly what most girls, coaches, or even my teammates would consider skinny- but for me it is the lightest I have been in years. When it comes down to it, I don’t believe your weight hinders progress with running. Your body will settle into its own running weight as long as you are fueling your body with the proper foods (I’ll make follow-up posts for healthy eating). Otherwise, don’t be the person obsessing over body shape and the number on the scale. As your times go down, your confidence in your self overall will jump! Suddenly, its not about image but about self-satisfaction.
